About Sunda Kitchen

After nearly 2 years of serving our community, we’ve made the difficult decision not to extend our lease and to conclude our operations at this location after this weekend.

We want to sincerely thank every single one of you for the incredible love, support, visits, orders, reviews, recommendations, and memories you’ve shared with us over the past two years. Sunda Kitchen would not have been possible without you.

This may not be goodbye forever. ❀️ We are looking at the possibility of opening another Sunda Kitchen location sometime soon if the right opportunity arises.

Before you go

  • Ask about allergens when you order: US food law names nine major allergens (milk, eggs, fish, shellfish, tree nuts, peanuts, wheat, soy and sesame), and kitchens can tell you which dishes contain them.
  • Restaurant inspection results are kept by the city or county health department; many publish them online or post the latest grade at the door.
  • For table service a tip of 15–20% is customary; at counter-service places tipping is optional.

Upcoming buffet 6/20-6/21!! The food, service, ambience, and people are all phenomenal. Indonesian food is flavored well, and so much variety on the menu. Plus it’s ALL HALAL! The owners were so courteous and let us take our time asking questions and choosing from the menu despite the fact that we came in near closing time. I thoroughly enjoyed it and will be back b soon!

Great food and service. Being here felt like I was in Indonesia. I learned a lot about the cuisine, and enjoyed the atmosphere.

went for their buffet service. excited to try different types of Indo cuisines. the restaurant is located on the corner and parking is a small lot on the side street and free street parking. inside the decor was very traditional, warm, a bit tight but cozy. the buffet stations ranged from appetizers, entrees, salads, and desserts. everything was labeled but not really explained, especially those that may have fillings or not obviously identifiable. started w soup w some homemade-looking meatballs. not bad, light on the broth. good start. not overwhelming. excited for the samosas and chicken skin but they were so tough. the skins were incredibly hard, almost inedible, as if it were cooked overnight and reheated. maybe 2 out of 5 skins were crunchy. the samosas had good flavor and fillings but thick dough crust made it not too eager to get filled up on. the fried chicken - probably the best thing here, which was disappointing to say because I was looking forward to the beef rendang; however, it was also tough. not tender like I had experienced @ other Indo restaurants. it seems like mostly lean cut of beef w barely anything tender. the sauce was good over rice though. the eggroll

I ordered Beef Satay and Mie Bakso from Sunda Kitchen on GrubHub, and it was absolutely delicious. This meal was actually for my Iftar, and it was exactly what I needed after a long day of fasting. The Mie Bakso was warm, comforting, and very flavorful. I customized it a little by adding a boiled egg and cutting up the meatballs and tofu into smaller pieces, which made it even easier to enjoy every bite. The broth was rich and soothing, and everything tasted fresh and satisfying. The beef satay was tender, well-seasoned, and grilled perfectly. I also requested extra lime wedges and sambal on the side, and they followed my request perfectly β€” which I really appreciate when ordering delivery. To complete the meal, I made Teh Tarik at home, and it paired beautifully with the food. Overall, the meal was very filling and incredibly satisfying. I truly savored every bite, and honestly, it makes me want to order from Sunda Kitchen again tomorrow! Highly recommended!

I tried this Indonesian spot in Perth Amboy and the food honestly hits just like back home. The soto is rich, comforting, and perfectly seasonedβ€”not watered down or β€œAmericanized.” The broth has that real Indonesian aroma, the chicken is tender, and the egg is cooked spot-on. The fried bakwan on the side is crispy, flavorful, and exactly the kind of street-food crunch you want. Paired with warm rice and crackers, the whole meal just feels authentic. If you’re looking for real Indonesian flavor , this place nails it. Rich taste, clean presentation, and zero disappointment. Great food great service, feel like home, Nice πŸ‘πŸ»
